I created my ‘Strawberry’ glass pieces to perfectly encapsulate the culture surrounding Harajuku fashion; the strawberries are often a reoccurring imagery in Harajuku subcultures as it represents in the sweet nature of the fashion deriving from Kawaii culture as well as its vibrant colour much like the fruit. This is also my homage to FRUiTS fashion magazine.
I chose to design and sculpt my own Lolita-style ceramic Harajuku shoe with white frills and pastel pink colouring. Shoewear is of great importance in Lolita fashion and Kawaii culture and is a statement piece carrying the entire outfit of the wearer.
Through my art pieces I strive to share my love for the quirky and expressive nature of Harajuku fashion, while reaching like minded individuals with a flair for bold creativity and fun.
